Sick Child Policy

Please make every effort “not” to bring your child to the center if he/she is
sick. This is necessary in order to prevent the spread of illnesses. In order to maintain a healthy environment, it is necessary that sick children stay home. Every child’s immune system is different.

You will be called to pick up your child if he/she is experiencing any of the following illnesses:
-Unusual rashes
-Vomiting
-Fever of 100 degrees or higher
-Conjunctivitis (pink eye) or “cold in the eye”

-Diarrhea
-Unhealable sores
-Head lice
-Severe cough
-Severe cold
-Rapid breathing or labored breathing
-Runny nose with green/yellow colored discharge
-Communicable diseases – chicken pox, measles, mumps, influenza, etc.

Toilet Training

Kingdom Kidz Childcare Services will collaborate with parents to train children when the parents and provider feel the child is showing signs of being ready. This effort is only successful when the parents and provider are consistently working together by doing the same routines at home and at school.

Rest Time/Quiet Time

Children are required a rest period from 2 to 3 hours a day. Children
are expected to stay on their mats during naptime. If a child is not sleepy, then he will be allowed to engage in a quiet activity on their mats. Infants sleep on demand.

Items to be provided by the Parents:
-Bottles with caps labeled with the child’s name and date
-Pacifiers
-Pampers
-Baby wipes
-A change of weather appropriate clothing
-Sweater or Jacket
-Blanket (optional)
-Photo of family

Children with special needs

Kingdom Kidz Childcare Services as required by law will make the necessary accommodations for children with special needs.

Safety

Kingdom Kidz Childcare Services takes every precaution to ensure the safety of children in our care. In the case of an accident or injury, you will be notified immediately, the necessary first aid administered, and an incident report completed. All staff members are certified in CPR and basic first aid. Monthly fire drills are held at various times to familiarize the children with how to react in emergency situations. There are smoke detectors mounted in the center and a fire extinguisher in the kitchen.

As required by law, we are to report any evidence of child abuse or neglect immediately to the Division of Child Protective Services. If a parent suspects abuse or neglect of a child, you may contact the Division of Child Protective Services at 919-733-4622.

Nutrition

Kingdom Kidz Childcare Services provides three meals that are prepared according to the nutritional guidelines set forth by the NC Division of Child Development and the Federal Food Program. Children are not allowed to bring home prepared food to the center except for infants, birthdays, special occasions, and/or doctor’s request. Water will continuously be offered
throughout the day to all children.
